New security flaws in norton antivirus

2016-06-30

As part of Google's Project Zero, very serious security flaws in Norton's and Symantec's antivirus products have been found. The security flaws are so-called remote code execution flaws and are particularly serious since an attacker can easily access vulnerabilities only by e.g. sending an e-mail with an attachment, thus giving the attacker full control over the computer.

Symantec has released updates to resolve the security flaws, and we recommend to all of our customers who are running any of Symantec's and/or Norton's antivirus solutions that they should be sure to upgrade these immediately.
